KCW Day 3: Finished Pants

KCW Day 3 — it’s almost half over!  A week sounds like a long time, but boy that goes fast, especially when you have a long list of “needs” to make during that time.

Last night I finished J’s first pair of summer Parsley Pants.  I love this pattern.  Perfect fit, easy sew, good-looking finished product.  The Clean Slate Pants are my go-to if I need traditional pockets and a zip fly, but when I want a quick pair of elastic waist pants, I inevitably reach for the Parsley Pants.

Summer pants — very useful in Kansas.

Very danceable.

These pants fit J exactly as I was hoping.  They’re a little loose all around and maybe just a tad long, but that means that he won’t grow out of them in a week!  And they might even last until spring if I’m lucky.

I have a second pair cut that I’ll start on tonight.  I would have started them last night, but I was sooooo tired.  WIth all three kids fairly small, my main sewing time comes after they’re all in bed, which means I’m frequently up late working on projects.  This last week Baby J has started waking up again in the middle of the night, so I felt like the walking dead yesterday.

Rather than starting on pair #2, I sewed for my hour, finished these and then turned in.  I did at least manage to get my serger re-threaded for J’s tank tops, so fingers crossed that I can whip through the second pair of pants and the two tank tops tonight!
